Digital frames with viruses
« on: January 25, 2008, 12:00:58 AM »
I can't find the thread where someone was talking about the digital frame they gave for Christmas, but hope it's not an Insignia NS-DPF10A from Best Buy.

They've known about the virus for nearly a month, but had put off informing consumers until they could "Get a handle on its inventory."

IOW, they wanted to get them sold, knowing at worst only 10% of the people would bring them back on a recall.

OMG! That's outrageous! So you plug up to your puter to install the softwear and d/l pictures to it and you get a virus in return?? You'd think the frames could be a little cheaper or come with a new hard drive for your computer in that case. Sheesh.

Glad we didn't get our parents that one either.  Of course, they just put an SD card in theirs - we didn't tell them how to interface the frame with the computer at all.

 :whew

I can't imagine trying to get my father to understand how to get the frame to interface.

He opened the box and there was a sticky note, plug me in.

I had the SD card all loaded up and ready to go.

If he had to interface it...Bless his heart, the frame would've sat empty.

We did the same exact thing for MIL. That's so funny! She still called to see how to work it. Hubby was like "see the cord, and at the end is a plug... stick it in the outlet on your wall".  ???

Gotta love them!

My father literally wipes the floor with all the contestants on Jeopardy nightly, he's just that smart.

Yet, he sits in amazement of me when I'm doing anything on the computer.

I guarantee you I sit in amazement with my kids when they know which remote to pick up to do whatever item that needs to be done on the tv. DVD, DVR and more.
