Help me decide
« on: October 13, 2007, 02:47:28 PM »
I'm in the process of trying to get some ideas on what it will cost me to get my candle biz started again and need input on what type of containers people would be most likely to purchase. I'm going to have to start with just 1 type of jar until I start generating income again so make those votes count.

You can see the jars at http://candlescience.com/containers/jelly-hex-jars.php.

Thanks!

I picked oval.  Is that like the jelly jar?  I like that one because it looks more homemade.  I used to really like the hex but now dollar store candles come in the hex so it not my favorite anymore.

But to be honest your candles sell so well because they are made so well, it wouldn't matter what kind of jar they were in to me!

Then again I love the tarts :love005

Edited to add:  Duh :m218  I didn't even notice that oval said hex.  Anyway I like the round jelly jar type.  Sorry for the mix-up :h0162

Square or Victorian with black lid. Not a fan of the gold lid, relatively speaking. Really the scent is what is most important :)

Do any of the shapes burn better? I seem to do best with roundish jars for burning. I have a bunch of jelly jar ones purchased locally that burn nicely. I have one oval-shaped jar and don't care for it much.

Ooh, I just looked at the 12-sided and that is really interesting looking. I don't think I've seen one of those in person.

I say either maximize profits with one of the more inexpensive jar options--it's the candles themselves we like ;) --or pick something you don't see every day to stick out. Like the 12-sided one.

I voted for my oldie but goodie fav the hex jar. Any new candles would go with  my current decor... "Teri's Hex Jar modern".

Glad to see you back and really REALLY glad to hear you talking candles.  :heartB :up

I voted (for Victorian/black), but I agree with maximizing your profit right now.

I'm ready to ORDER!  I want 'em now!  :s0147

Hex, black too match appliances, but really like the Tureen cause it looks easy to light.

I really like the look of the Tureen jars also but I bought some of them to test with quite awhile back and never could get them wicked right. Any of the jars that are 4" and wider usually require double wicking and when you enter that area you normally end up with soot .... so I avoid the wide mouth jars.

Tarts will be the 1st thing added back to the product lineup.  :up

I like the simplicity of the Victorian jar with the gold lid, but like everybody else it is the scent that makes your candles so terrific.

Keep up the great work & hang in there!
