Auctionbytes finally recognizes ebaY malaise

They finally "discovered" what I've been saying for two years.  The ebaY roller coaster met its peak and is on the way down.  Only difference is I pointed it out when it was happening, they're just now looking back and agreeing with my timeline.

IMHO, eBay peaked in 2000.

Sellthrough was nearly 100% while the site was still small and before it went public.

After that, sellthrough declined to maybe an average of 40%. And some sellers are experiencing sellthrough rates even worse than that in their own specific categories.

This latest fiasco with Stores and Search last year is just another nail in the eBay coffin.

Pity, because it was a fun place to buy and sell before all the "improvements."

I just began selling on eBay in March of this year - I enjoyed it and thought it was fun - but the cost, my only savings grace was using Auctiva for my listings.  I havent' listed on eBay for a couple of weeks now, I was getting very dissappointed with the final selling prices of some of my items.  Very unfortunate - Dawn :?

eBay was so-o-o good in the beginning up until 2004 for me. Almost everything I listed, sold. Now I list to advertise my eBay store. I don't even expect most of it to sell through auctions, and STILL my lowest monthly fee has been last month, at $80.  :s0147

Wanna borrow my "handy dandy ray gun"  I usually rent it out - but in your case it would be no charge - LOL

The $80 included my eBay store, but I listed mostly during the 20 cent special, and very little throughout the month. Crazy!!! Usually my fees are around $200, and I list appx.2-3 costumes, 4-5 days a week.

Well if that included your store I guess that was reasonable.  Very nice items you have - (drooling) -

Thanks.  :love005

$80 was still high considering how little I listed and sold.

Have you been trying other places so that you can benefit better?

Right now I'm satisfied w/eCrater, I sold 3 items last week.  I have asked for membership to mystorespace (haven't heard from them yet).  I also have pages on Squiddo, Google and MSN Live.  I've also looked at Bidzig??? I haven't joined that one yet, still looking at it -

Double checking, it did include my store, but my sales were only $250 for that month.  :-(

The amount of sales is my own doing. I've been to busy with my kiddo. I'm just complaining about the fees. Come Sept. I'll be so swamped I won't have time to breathe.  :up
