Limited edition flavor of Dr Pepper - Vanilla Float
« on: June 14, 2014, 04:51:20 AM »
Just came across this at a local store.  From looking online it's been around since May, but I hadn't seen it at our local stores until today.  Dr. Pepper Vanilla Float flavor.  Taco Bell is also serving it frozen!

I haven't had the frozen version, but the store bought can of it tastes really good.  It has the tastes of cream soda and Dr. Pepper, rolled into one!  :D!

I haven't had any soda/pop since February when I started my I gotta lose weight adventure except for a couple sips of my sister's the other day when she asked if something was wrong with her Dr. Pepper (fountain drink) and I couldn't believe how I felt like my stomach was gonna explode from a couple sips.  Don't miss it, but that sure sounds good to me...I haven't had a float in YEARS, what's wrong with me?????

Heh :)   It has a whopping 41 grams of sugar per 12 ounce can  :-X , but it sure tastes like an ice cream float w/o the dreaded, "the pop's lost its fizz" bit that floats tend to get.

I gotta swing by Taco Bell and try the slushie version

Lol
Sorry, gotta splurge on the calories on this one.

Just saw that also available in retail stores from Pepsi, for a limited time, Mt. Dew Baja Blast (up until now was a Taco Bell exclusive flavor)

I just went into sugar shock!
<smile>

I haven't had sugar/sugar in so long I'd be in a diabetic coma.
HA!

Wow, Dr. Pepper and Vanilla together...top that off with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream for a real float.  I'd splurge the calories for that!

Got a 12 pack at Publix because it sounded so good in this thread....I haven't had pop since like February, but I splurged and served one up for myself.  I wasn't impressed.  Can't taste the vanilla, waited for the ice cream flavor.  Maybe it's because I haven't had any for so long, but I didn't finish the one I fixed and haven't had another one  LOL   My butt thanks me for that      :laugh

Sorry to hear  :-(  Ones I've gotten here have a nice ratio of vanilla, cream, and DP.  Maybe it was a weak batch or the flavor was muted from being extra cold?  Perhaps try one not as cold?

Once you've detox'd off sugar...and I know you have.
At least it's this way for me, items such as the above taste so very different than they did prior.
Ultra-sweet.
Almost syrupy.

I thought it tasted like the regular Dr. Pepper to be honest, but you ARE right about getting off sugar....I used to LOVE shrimp, now I don't really even care for them, they taste dififerent than I remember  LOL  Wierd, huh?  There are other foods now too that I just don't even want.  I mean I think I might until I start thinking about it and then I know how I'm going to feel tomorrow because I ate something sugary today and believe me, you do pay the price.  Salt.  Not eating that either and my blood pressure has dropped tremendously.  I'm told right now I'll probably live to be as old as a tortoise.  Not sure that's good, but hey, I feel better.  Another 3.4 pounds this past two weeks and I have until Thursday before I see the doc again and weigh in so we'll see what it is then.

I saw my daughter last weekend and she's down to 142!!  From 232 in just over a year that's not bad, but she's doing the Dolce diet, UFC workout along with yoga on her "off" days, and the occasional PS90 workout if she feels "stressed" and needs a good workout  LOL  She's not been 142 since she was a sophomore in high school and I am SO proud of her for all the hard work she's done.  I even have photos of me and the grands and me and my daughter together.  What was really funny is I was on my cell with her asking where she was and she was standing probably 50 yards from me   DUH    She absolutely does NOT look the same.  She ROCKS and she's given me new found motivation.  She wanted to be "the BEST" she could be before she hits 40 (January) and I think she's done it, although for her this is a lifestyle change, not a "diet", as I'm hoping it will be for me       :D!

Oh I added a couple photos.  My daughter and Son In Law (whom I adore and couldn't have made a better choice) and my daughter and me cutting up and having some fun
