Didn't someone say they had a few items listed that weren't theirs but were listed through IF and ebay caught it?

Happened to me.  Greg emailed me about the problem and IF paid the fees to my PP account.

Wow Robin, that's not a good deal.  AT.ALL.

Steve, also nightrunway said something about ebay catching a listing that wasn't theirs and shut them down for a while.  I'm glad they caught yours and you weren't shut down first!

Was it a fluke or a malicious attempt to attack their system, do you know?

I'll copy/paste part of Greg's email.

I wanted to send you an email and let you know about a very important issue which affected your inkFrog account today.

One of our caching mechanisms that was used for our scheduler began malfunctioning. Due to this, some listing(s) were launched to your eBay account that were not created by you, and not supposed to launch. This problem only happened to a very few amount of users, but unfortunately your account was one of the affected accounts. You may have noticed some listing(s) that were 'listed' and later 'ended' that were not built by you, and were not your listings. This was due to our system glitch. There is no cause for alarm with regards to your account. We have already resolved this issue going forward, however we wanted to be proactive and let you know what happened, how it happend, and what we are doing to resolve this.

I think they just shut down their forums. Announcements, tutorials & FAQ are still there so where are the rest. Yet still nothing in the announcements section about this? Strange..

Hi Stone: At least you received a response from IF.  Heather just dismissed me like it was something that happened everyday. I still can't believe Ebay was so on the ball as to catch someone using my account for listing their items.  AND Ebay did track it back to IF!!!. Like I said I really like using IF, but I hope I never have to ask for help again. I don't need to be treated like a peon when it comes to something this serious.  The first person whose name was on my listing ,(I was trying to relist from inkfrog), was from China. I looked the name up on ebay and they were no longer a member.  Last night when someone listed a Play Station 3 with my account, it was Ebay that called me, because I have never listed anything like that. I sell women's clothing. But....Heather decided my problem was solved by changing my password, she exited our conversation and I could no longer get into my IF account.  I had to get back with her to ask why she suppended my account.  Then came the token bit...etc etc.  What a nightmare!!!

:)  Hi!  Sorry to hear that you were one of the unlucky ones last night, but it sounds like it was taken care of?  No problems?

Yes, that has worked all along.  It is all the topics in the forum that were deleted, like Chit Chat, Member to Member Help, Talk ebay.  Those are all gone.  And if you look, most of the threads in the three forums left are locked.  Only a few are open for comments.

I see there is no Forum tab at the top of the page any more.  So I guess I was right.... the forum isn't coming back...... I hope people find us here!

From Heater and permission was given to post it here:

Heather:
At this time the forums are being worked on and getting an overhaul to be a help fourm community. At this time we are not sure if there will be a chitchat area for members. We are trying to make it a help fourm for people who need help.

I have a forum tab.

On the IF page, yes, up in the right corner, but when you click on it and get the forum page there is not tab there for Forum, just Home / Help & Tutorials / Submit a Request / Check Your Existing Requests.  There used to be one that said Forums.

Sometimes help is chit-chat.

Exactly, Member to Member Help had tons of great info in it!!

Wasn't it a "help forum" already?  They effectively squashed any personal conversations the last time around.  So if it is a "Help Forum" as they are calling it, aren't they still going to have the same problem?  People will be still writing about what isn't working.  How is that going to be a change from what it was??    I must be missing something.......

Oddly the forum they don't want, chit chat had the least negative stuff about IF in it from what I could tell.

Barbara,

The way I took my conversation with Heather was NO interaction with other members.

This is just absurd to me. I always found the member's posts very helpful on the IF forums. InkFrog seems very unstable lately to me. Always adding and changing things for the worst and never improving on what's there already. What a shame. I've about had it with them myself.
