Go Leo, Go!! You can do it! You have lost more than my granddaughter weighs! You have lost an entire PERSON so far. You are doing GREAT!!

Congratulations on the will power! I always knew you could do it!

You've inspired so many here with your words, and now you are doing it again with your actions. (well, you always did do it with actions, too, but you know what I mean.)  :heartkiss

Hey congrats Leo. I am down to 258 as of friday. Now all we need is for fred to chime in and say he lost 40 pounds. I was 297 last summer and 286 in January. I should post a pic of my belly. I have a 2 pack. Well I have a perfect 6 pack but there is still a beer ball sitting on top of it.

leo did you ever watch the show "The Biggest loser" It's on tuesday nights. It really motivated me this year. I usually don't watch those kind of shows anymore but they had a couple of guys in the 300 and over 400 pound range and they show how they use exercise and diet to lose weight. It's a little extreme probably for me because I don't have 6 hours a day to work out but some of the guys on there lost over 100 pounds. One guy is in his 50s and he lost 117 pounds as of last week. It keeps me wanting to go to the gym.

I think that is a very motivating show. Of all the reality TV shows that are on nowadays, at least that one has a goal and inspires people to lose weight along with them. Average people given an incredible opportunity and making the most of it. (or the least of it, as the case may be.)

I agree Sharky and they're doing the old fashioned way...with hard work.
We really like The Biggest Loser here in this household, too.

243 as of yesterday, prolly considerably worse after three large eggs, two brats and an order of onion rings for brekfast, not to mention a KFC bowl and 1/3# burger last nite.  I  could go to 240 without actually losing any dry weight.

I'm 5'14'

So are you close to a goal, or have you hit it yet? Are you losing weight or is that what you weigh on a regular basis?

For the last 20 years, I weighed 270-5, no matter how much I ate.  The insurance company charts say my ideal is 220, which  means they've been looking at too many supermodels with anorexia.

Anyway, for a year of very little eating while I got up to 25 stone wet, I simultaneously lost 20#+ dry weight.

So it's not really a goal (I always felt good at 275), but this is the lightest I've been in 25 years.

I may eventually do some working out, but I've always been naturally strong.  Something about a 54" chest.  Folks like the eotrgs and dip, who have met me, can tell you I'm a bit scary if the initial meeting has me coming around a corner.

I know what you mean about insurance company weight charts. I think these doctors are stoned. No way I'd be comfortable at 195 (I think that is what they say I should weigh). My legs alone probably weigh 100#sI have huge thighs and calves, just look at the tattoo pics I posed they're huge from Mountain biking. A hobby I plan on starting again soon. I was 297 last summer I wasn't comfortable, my doc (i know David i said I wouldn't go to one) wanted me on high blood pressure meds that is when I decided i wasn't going to get like my father. He's gaining weight and not taking care of himself again. But anyway I don't want to be that big again. I felt it big time. I had very bad sleep apnia and would wake up gasping for air. That scared the crap out of me. I had a blood clot in my nasil passage that (this is gross) shot down my throat, out my mouth and into the toilet and I fished it out because I didn't know what the hell it was. I fished it out and took it to the doc the next day. He said it was a bllood clot and I had a burst blood vessel in my nasal passage. He wanted me to take diovan but I ain't popping pills everyday for the rest of my life so I decided to make a change. That is why I moved my gym membership to New york Sports Club. It's closer to my apartment and much cleaner, and nicer plus there are lots of girlies running around half nekid  :0771
