Remember muscle weighs more. So if you've gotten muscle mass from carrying her around and all that comes with a baby. Even if you might not number wise have lots the lbs you want...it's now muscle and that's a good thing.

I have been noticing the flap of flab  :o on my belly is getting a little less scary. I keep looking like I'm at earlier stages of pregnancy LOL  I think I've gone from the way I looked at 4 months to the way I looked at 3 months ;) I think my thighs are getting less monstrous, but the stomach is another story and I do understand why mothers think about tummy tucks.

I just noticed the little round skin biopsy scar i had on my belly...got stretched out so it distorted and enlarged :-( Never noticed it amid all the big stetchmarks. My poor belly will never be the same. I know, the baby is worth it, but I can still mourn the loss of my old belly, which I never appreciated enough til now.

@ Serendipity, Excellent! 2 lbs is wonderful and anytime that you can lose anything while you are still nursing is a great thing! You may miss that flatter prebaby body, but you have a gorgeous new baby daughter in exchange for that, so it's okay! Eventually things will get back to normal, but you have a very busy life now Anne, (and hate to tell ya, but it will be that way for at least 18 years. :o :h0035........) So just staying committed to any regular exercise is a big thing in my mind!
Thanks for starting this thread, and for helping me to keep it going.

@Jewel,  :up. You are so right,  I am sure that Anne is gaining muscle and that does add to weight. I know that I am gaining muscles in my legs, and even though the pounds don't always come off as quickly as I would like, I can see such an improvement in the muscles in my legs. (Doing 90 lbs on the leg press machine has got to do something, right?) Deborah

I did a lot of baby lifts today, laying down and lifting her up over my head. We did it a bunch of times playing, then I decided to do it as excercise so did some more. She was thrilled and I hopefully worked on my biceps  :up

Oh my, Leo, that's wonderful!  :362  :0191
I hope that somehow, the thread has been of some help, but it's obvious you have been doing something  yourself. (And that you have been doing that something very well, too!) I hope you are feeling well and that you can keep the momentum.
I wish that I would have done my measurements before I started, but I only recorded my weight. So far, I have lost 7 lbs since 6/18 but I do not know about inches.

Congratulations, Leo :up.

YAY Leo!!! You're doing great!!  :cl :cl :cl

Baby presses... great new exercise! There should be a mother's group that has you bring your infant and use her/him to work out with. As you get progressively better at it, the baby puts on weight anyhow, making the workout harder. No need to get a babysitter, and a great way to get together with other moms. I think you're onto something Anne!

:offtopic - But hey this is an Off-Topic area isn't it. :017 :017

This reminds me of the Farm Kid who wants to be a World Champion weight ligfter, and the only thing he has to lift is baby cows. So when the that years calves are born he starts lifting them each 5 times a day. And as they grow continues. Before the end of that year you have the Govenor of CAL-I-FORN-YA!!
:back2topic

Keep it up Leo and everybody else. Good job.

I haven't posted on this topic for a couple of days, but David was in the hospital, so I was preoccupied. He is home now, and things are getting back to normal.
I can report that since June 19th, I have lost 9.5 lbs :D! :P.
I missed a couple of days at the health club, but I did do a mile and a half on my treadmill at home today, and will head out to exercise at the club tomorrow. I hope everyone else is keeping on track too!

Wow! That si a lot of weight loss, Deborah! i know your dedication is a big part of the great results!

i am happy to report that my belly is getting smaller. pants are getting looser and looser. I had bought two pairs of pants to wear to work, but had only worn the one pair... i tried on the other ones today (still had tags on) and they are getting loose! Not so bad I couldn't wear them, but enough that I think they are going back to the store because I plan to keep trimming that stomach :D! I just bought those pants 2-1/2 weeks ago, and they fit perfectly then!

Thanks for the cheerleading! The more results I see, the more motivated I get, and that is not just weight loss results, it is the awesome results I am now seeing with the rehab from my knee replacements. Just in the past month, I have made very big strides (in more ways than one!) LOL, my gait, aka stride, is finally becoming normal!

David said yesterday that I am now walking normally, but he says it is a "new normal" because my former knee problems caused me to have an abnormal gait, and now it is truly becoming normal!

I did 12+ miles on the recumbent exercise bike yesterday at the health club. I did the 12.3 miles at intensity level 5 for 40 minutes and then a 5 minute cool down. I also used the leg press at 70lbs for each leg, 3 sets of 10. Then, when I got home, I did 1.5 miles on my treadmill. (I am not cleared to increase the speed on the treadmill yet, so I can only go at 2.1 mph. Hopefully, the PT's will increase that when I see them in a couple of weeks.)

Hey, Leo, no gain IS a good thing! Don't worry, if you are following the instructions that your MD has given you, then you are doing just fine!  :D! :D! Don't give up!

Everyone is doing GREAT :D!

They do have mommy and baby workout groups.  I never did any classes myself but I did get a video from the library and did it at home.  We like yoga for kids, our favorite is E-I-E-I Yoga. I also used to do a playground workout with the kids when I was teaching preschool.

Where there's a will there's a way to get it done :up

I've had a rough few weeks but things are starting to look up and I'm confident life is only going to get better from this point on.  With that being said I plan to get back on track as far as diet and exercise next week.  No more putting my needs last, in order to take care of my family I need to take care of myself and its okay to do that - I know that now :077

That is very true,  :s0156 Danielle.
:exactly  No one but you can change you, so you must take care of yourself in order to take care of your family. Hope that this is the beginning of some great changes for you :love005.
