Now that they've been notified, hopefully they'll take it down.   Course, the scammers will just move, but at least it will slow them down for a little bit.
You went the extra mile that Steve and that will save others that might fall prey.

Dayum scammers.

* Computer Lab / How do YOU find Hotspots while Traveling
« on: May 12, 2007, 02:08:37 PM »
How do YOU find Hotspots for Wifi while traveling? Do you map out spots before hand? (besides trying to find a sign on a door)
How do you insure your info security beyond normal means? Or do you depend solely on your already tight machine?
How bout those of you that use cell phones to fill in between wifi hotspots? Is it a waste of time for a sometime user like myself?
And is it better to have my own ethernet router for Wifi if I'm at a hotel?

I'm getting my ducks in a row for traveling this summer...I'd like to pick the brains of our members. I've Googled and found some answers but trust it more from your experiences.

Thanks!

USER AGREEMENT as of 05-11-2014:

Auction Sellers Motivators/eCommerce Sellers Motivators is a cooperative community dedicated to the betterment of members' online businesses.

Active participation and ideas will keep this area vibrant and helpful for everyone.
We reserve the right to delete any account that is inactive for substantial length of time. If an active member becomes non-active without notification to moderators or administrators certain forums will become unavailable.

Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts and the like.

Participation on level 2 and higher of ESM is a priviledge. With this privilege comes the requirement to post once every 30 days. If a posting is not made, or a note to admins of circumstances which keeps member from posting, the membership will be moved to level one/public access with no email notice or PM.

Members must be in good standing on Level I for a minimum of 30 days and have a minimum of 30 posts (all ecommerce postings) before administrators review membership and a decision is made to move to Level II and/or higher.

Approval to Level II is by administrator decision solely. Administrators reserve the right to revoke Level II notice without notice. Members already on Level II are not guaranteed grandfathering priviledges.

*modified to clairify signature in profile requirement

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. That means no flaming. This includes disrespect, antagonism, baiting, name-calling and a host of other demeaning attributes. Such behavior, whether perceived as justified or not, is not allowed. Disagreements are common in groups of highly individual people, but we have progressed the idea of communication above insult and endeavor to keep it that way. If you feel the need to pursue such an exchange, do it off site. It will not be tolerated here.

You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Please respect "fair use" when posting excerpts from news and/or informational articles. Spam, flooding, chain letters, and pyramid schemes are forbidden on this forum. With the exception of links to your business(es) contained in your forum signature (not a requirement), advertisements for goods and/or services are limited to the Community Marketplace forum.

You agree that you will not post any sexually oriented or adult material in any forum other than the Water Cooler forum(s), specifically designated for such, and that any post containing adult and/or sexually oriented material will be identified according to guidelines posted within said forum.

We do not allow posts, avatars, signature links, or profile URLs that are sexual in nature or violate ESM/ASM community standards. The ESM/ASM Administration shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.

Discussion of illegal activities such as software & music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of all posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner(s). Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages, and retain all applicable copyrights. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum. You agree not to take posted messages from this site for dissemination elsewhere without the express written permission of the original author. ASM /ESM Administration reserves the right to briefly quote forum posts as they relate to ASM/ESM in newsletters, blog entries, throughout the ASM/ESM network and in ASM/ESM promotions. When republishing quotes for distribution, we will identify you only by your ASM/ESM member name.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason. We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft. Each member is allowed one login account. Registering multiple accounts is not allowed. Please contact administration if you would like us to delete account(s) registered to you.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement. Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

ASM/ESM Forum members have the ability to display a signature at the bottom of each post. This signature can be used to promote your site, business, or other ventures so long as they relate to you personally. We strongly encourage the use of your business link in your sig line or profile within the first two weeks. This will help ASM/ESM to determine which level of the forum you should belong. 6. Signatures may not contain animation
7. Referral links and links to sites that redirect user with a referral link are NOT permitted.

Auction Sellers Motivators/eCommerce Sellers Motivators will not disclose, sell or rent email address or other personal information to third parties. Users are prohibited from disclosing, selling or renting any personal information obtained as a result of their use of these forums to any other third party.

You may not like it, but it is human nature to apply rules less dogmatically to people who have earned a degree of latitude. The same goes here. There are members here who are long-standing and well-respected, and a minor infringement of the rules by one of them may well be met with a more tolerant attitude or a more light-hearted comment than the same infringement by a member who has yet to build up respect. Serious infringements by senior members will not go unpunished, but they may receive their warning privately, so you may not be made aware of it. That may not seem very fair, but it is a mark of respect to a member who has earned it. If you want the same latitude, you must first earn the respect of the board. This is a working site. Some of the work is fun and some is serious, and both are valued equally, but if you make no contribution to either, you do not earn the right to test the boundaries in the way that others might.

Violation of rules CAN and WILL result in loss of posting privileges or membership at the discretion of the administrators. You may be removed without prior notice. Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

Administrators and Moderators are not perfect and are only human. Disagreements occur. Try to communicate with them first on a respectful level and settle your disagreement. They are not targets. If you do not agree with a decision, you are not entitled to start a thread [or post posts] arguing about the verdict or flaming any of the adminsistrators or moderators. Any such messages will be removed and a decision whether to deny posting privileges for a specific time period will be agreed upon by the Administrators or Moderators. This extends to Private Messages as well, and you are not entitled to insult administrators or moderators via either of these methods.

Administration reserves the right to alter and/or amend this user agreement at any time.

Participation on the ASM/ESM Forums indicates your agreement with and acceptance of these rules.

Danielle,

The local news channel spotlit this the other day. I meant to come here and post..I'm glad you did.

The main lawyer they use for consultation came on the show singing kudo's. (he's the one who busts the bad sites) This site guarantee's free international calls for 3 years or so the lawyer had confirmed by the company.

Thanks!

The only thing I didn't like about them was that when I first read the information, there was to be no charge when they went live. I went back several hours later, and now they're going to charge $4.95 per month for the service when they go live. I don't like their templates that much.

Later,

Rosemary

Rosemary,

That statement has been on the sign up page for a LONG time. At least a year.

Don't look at their standard templates, Teri (flightoffancy here) did some specialty templates or if you need help with using your own..I'm sure if you asked Teri, she could help you with your own and the tags needed for AZ. Or I bet Dyar could if Teri's not around.

Peace,
Donna
