Wow, I see that there were tornado touchdowns in Tampa area, with roofs off and structural damage, etc.
Thinking of all those in that area.

We had really nasty weather here. So nasty a 30' branch was blown from one of my huge pine trees at my old house fell and crushed my son's car. He's just got liability insurance and my homeowner's policy won't cover it.

Earlier I had to drive my younger son to school in driving rain and was pelted so hard with hail  that I pulled over and parked for about 15 min. He was late, but late beats dead.

I'll have pics of the car this afternoon.

I saw that on the weather channel about the collapsed hanger.
I have another friend from my town who moved to Lakeland area a few months ago, so I'm thinking of all of those in that area!

Hope everyone is safe, how scary for you and your son Jeri, Donna hope you are safe, have seen the pics from Lakeland you guys always get hit.

The weather was terrible here this morning, we had a tornado roll thru one street over from us, but it felt as if is was right over us, we had all the roll up doors down and the showroom door locked, the wind was so strong it started to blow in the back roll up door, so my DH backed the forklift up against it,  the rain came down so hard you couldn't see anything and all of sudden it felt as if the air was sucked out of the bldg and the ceiling tiles in the office lifted up from the channels and then dropped back down, rain and wind lasted a few minutes and then it let up. DH checked the property we only had some minor damage, but have no power in bldg 3 or our apartment, from what I have seen on TV we were very very lucky.

Donnacrafts, it sounds like you had it bad, too! Wow, and we thought it was bad that we got an inch or two of "little or no accumulation" yesterday!

Tornado was within 2 miles or so of our home.
It was raining....hard.
Then...BAM!
Sky turned dark as soot and the winds reminded me of a hurricane...a strong hurricane.
Lost power within minutes...thank goodness I have everything ready such as candles, lighter, etc.
Once it died down...approximately 45 minutes, I ventured out.
Neighborhood is a mess and the area is a mess.
Luckily our home is untouched...our neighbor's privacy fence has fallen into our yard and the neighbor behind us that has a home on one lot and a garden on another....fence is down, too.
The neighboring church lost it's steeple, trees down across the roads.
I checked Twitter for updates on my Lakeland twitter account and watched for updates...which did come regular and from others in Lakeland.
Hannah called from college and said the alarms were going off and she was fine.
Her second story class was losing ceiling tiles and hail was hitting the windows. They were evacuated to the student union, library and various lower level classes.
She called me once she was safely in the student union and said not to worry, that all was well.
Thank goodness for cell phones!
Once the all-clear was given for students to be released...
I headed out to get Hannah from college...roads were bad with trees, broken limbs, power lines, etc and no way, no how did I want her on the road!
We found a restaurant with power and hunkered down till a neighbor called telling me the power was back on.
Thank goodness for cell phones!
The kids have told me that their friends are posting pictures on Facebook...I'll check them out later.

I'm so glad that all of you are safe!

I live about halfway between Orlando and Daytona.
Guess where I was this morning when all that hit? TAMPA. Just a few miles from that hangar that collapsed. The wind and rain was terrible. I was in an auditorium of a hospital for the kickoff program for our computer system conversion for new hospitals we have acquired. The auditorium leaked so bad rain was running down the walls.  :o It sounded like a hurricane.  :o Not only that, but due to another issue at the hospital, the program got postponed til next week and we all got sent home. So - I had to drive over 100 miles in this weather to get home. Because, by golly, I have been over there since Sunday and was coming home, come hell or high water. It was pretty much 'high water'. I am very glad to be home. :whew

Glad to hear from you all, glad everyone is safe.  Rain is just now starting here, should be less severe at this point.
