* Amazon Central / Re: Prime Day BUST!
« Last post by Southern Jewel's Fab Finds on July 16, 2018, 07:45:04 PM »
Nyuck Nyuck.

Have tried to sign into our family buying account since 3:00...
No go!

The sales we are all losing!
I did receive email notice of items to ship (seller fulfilled).
How those buyers were even able to sign in...I don't know.

Get it together, Amazon!
I was able to get into the Amazon Seller Forums.

First posting I see: We are aware that Seller Central is experiencing intermittent login issues. If you receive an error message, please try to login again. We are working to resolve this issue quickly.

Wondering whether all those websites that Amazon hosts are up and running.

Have you considered looking into selling the DVDs as a lot?
Yep, I hear ya.
Race to the bottom.
Penny here, penny there...race to the bottom.

I've not seen any ads for Amazon except the flippin' Prime Day ads.
Guess I'm lucky!
That music on the video.
<crossing eyes>

My fav comment:
If you need tech advice from Yahoo you have bigger problems.

Seriously though, why would they even comment on this:
'if you see a deal on a Huawei and ZTE smart phone'

Both of those smart phones have been banned from being sold at military bases due to security reasons.
Yes, I know...someone from a non-US based military base can still buy them...but why even acknowledge them in the article?

I've seen the eBay ads. I've also noticed Amazon ratcheting up their advertising as well. I guess they need more suckers customers to buy their cheap Chinese junk.

Good for you for cleaning out the closets and making some dough.

I've been selling a LOT of DVDs on eBay since we had the first free removal April 18th. Been cranking out around 15-20 a week. Barely  makes a dent in the approximately 1,400 - 1,500 I removed for free though. Come August 1, I'll send one unit of each title back in and see if it increases my sell-through rate. I'll leave them at a higher price so I don't aggravate another seller's repricer. I'll just discount them for business customers to get them moving. Tired of the race to the bottom.
I am as ready as I'll ever be. I added business pricing to some products as well.

I was just reading this on yahoo finance and got a kick out of the user comments

One comment was by Jay who said "Why is this in the Yahoo Finance section, when it's clearly an ad for Amazon and Bezos - and Yahoo wonders why no one trusts it." I guess it was a dig at Amazon and Yahoo both. Why not kill two birds with one stone, I guess :)
Tomorrow is the day.
Hopefully, this will clean out inventory that I have marked down.

Have seen quite a few tv ads for eBay.
I like the ads.
The ads I've seen are mostly for clothing...rebranding themselves.

I have lots of vintage, rare, hard to find clothing pieces I need to pictures taken.

I sold one of my husband's Brooks Brothers men's long sleeve shirts that was just hanging in the back of the closet.
I also sold 3 pieces of clothing I thrifted in plus size for a .50 a piece.
For those of you that thrift/garage sale...Plus size clothing does real well on eBay.
I sold a ROKU GR-14 remote that I found when cleaning out a like new condition.
Sold several books on eBay...Amazon charges an arm and leg to sell books now.
I started on Amazon selling books and it was easy, peasy...not so much any longer.
I'll just put them up on eBay.

I'm approved in DVD's on Amazon, but thinking of putting what few I have left up on ebay.

I've  used about 50 of the 200 free additional listings. I'll be adding some more stuff this week now that I'm somewhat caught up.  Had to drop off some stuff at the UPS store to be scanned since my printer/scanner will only do 8.5x14 max. I looked up the cost of a flatbed scanner for my needs. Minimum $2,000 and the decent ones are well over $3,000. No thanks. UPS has a customer for life! ha!

eBay is doing lots of advertising to get its customers back.
Funny thing is, their medium of choice appears to be radio.
