Amazon Confirms It Will Close Four Fulfillment Centers For Retrofitting

According to the news report, the facilities to be closed are called "Amazon Robotics Quick Deploy," which handle small items and use Kiva orange robots that move shelves of goods to human pickers. The centers, located in California, Illinois, New Jersey and Texas, will be re-designed for use as sorting centers, Amazon Fresh delivery hubs and print-on-demand book sites, according to the report. An Amazon spokesperson told Yahoo that it has determined that various facilities are now better suited to handle different types of inventory than they have in the past.

Starting July 2019 You can now take your Amazon returns to all Kohl's stores

To borrow another persons comment:

That's pretty kohl.

Amazon plans to make Prime shipping one-day by default

I'd been wondering why the past 2 months most of my Prime purchases have given me the option of Free One Day Shipping.
AND even more important, ALL of them arrived in one day.
This incentive has moved me to purchase MORE on Amazon as versus getting in car, driving to store, fighting the crowd, purchase item and take it home. ( I was going to start it off with get dressed but...I am essentially dressed, just happens to be my comfy home clothes. ha)

Woop Woop!
Wondering if other retailers will step up and match.
Hmmmmmm.

I'm also signed up to sell on Poshmark and Etsy

Depending on item and where I feel it will sell the best... that's where my items are at.

From Reddit

So if I’m reading this correctly, referral fees are the biggest item in the list is referral fees. If you have standard 15% then with sales tax (assuming avg 6%), it’s 15.9%. Plus the other increases... I don’t like losing 1% of my net. <----not from me. I'm quoting a poster from the sub-reddit.

Dear Seller,

We are reaching out regarding the possible tax implications on some seller fees beginning June 1, 2019.

Some states consider specific Selling on Amazon fees such as per item, order, and refund fees as a taxable electronic service. Similarly, some states consider FBA inventory prep fees such as bubble wrap, polybag, taping and labels as taxable. Seller fees is not increasing however; you might see tax applied to some seller fees.

For more information regarding this change, refer to the FAQ below:

- What fees are taxable?

•       Referral Fee
•       Subscription Fee
•       Variable Closing Fee
•       Per-item Fee
•       Promotion & Merchandising Fee
•       Refund commission Fee
•       Checkout by Amazon
•       Sales Tax Collection Fee

FBA service fees (based on order fulfillment center):
•       Labeling Fee

- How will tax be calculated on my seller fees?
For Fulfillment services, the fulfillment center performing the taxable service will determine the tax rate.
For Selling on Amazon fees, the location of your business in a taxable state will determine the tax rate calculated.

- When does this begin and where can I see any tax collected on my seller fees?
Beginning June 1, 2019, Amazon will start collecting sales tax on taxable seller fees. Tax collected will reflect with the order fee on the transaction details of your Payments Reports. Date range payment reports will continue to reflect the sum of fees per order.

- Can I opt out of using FBA fulfillment services that may be taxable?
FBA services are performed on your items when you elect to purchase these services from Amazon or when the packaging and prep requirements are not met.
To manage your FBA settings and minimize FBA service fees by prepping your items before sending to an Amazon fulfillment center, visit Fulfillment by Amazon settings at https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/ssof/configuration/index.html/ref=xx_fbasettings_dnav_xx.

Didn't this past year eBay began having other means of payment?
I purchased some shipping supplies in January and was able to choose Paypal or their own card carrier.
Worked smooth as silk.

I'll hang around a bit on Amazon...
Specifically October thru December.
After end of May this year, I hope <fingers crossed) to be on vacation from Amazon until October.
Maybe ship in one shipment a month off oddz and endz.
That's easy money.
Otherwise, I'm having a ball doing my previous collectibles, vintage, etc on eBay.
