This forum goes away on March 4th, 2019
Forum is up for grabs only to someone I trust.

Retirement from eCommerce is coming and with it goes this forum.
Hope to be only doing a holiday season after this year.
Just cause, I can't give it up. <smile>
And the tax write-offs.

I'm going to turn off the lights and close the door on my way out.

You were using the partner'd shipping with eBay, correct?
They have a partnership with USPS as Amazon does.
Not sure if you've seen this posting on the forum but there's a to Link to Print Labels using Paypal (where you still receive a business rate discount for buying USPS postage).
I use this all the time when I've sold an item not from Amazon or eBay.
Works well.
Or you could use the sign in for USPS business account to buy postage BUT the site doesn't offer first class only priority. <-----hardly ever use

I had 2 orders from an eBay seller this past December.
Seller placed stamps on the envelopes to ship.
I don't know if the recipients received their item or not.
I'm not forgiving about that, I want my delivery confirmation/tracking.
Tried to explain to the buyer that it is a protection for them more so than the buyer.
If I wanted to (and I'm not. I believe in Karma) I could file against seller and would win because they do not have a delivery confirmation for the shipping of their product.

Lovin' eBay all over again.
Made $$$ during the Christmas season, Alot more than expected.
And considering opening a store on eBay instead of selling each individual item for a fee. (which is still lower than Amazon)
I love the vacation mode of an eBay store.
eBay vacation help

I do love the vacation mode of Amazon, too.
I continue to make money on Amazon on vacation if my items are in FBA.

I have continued to research this subject and coming up with alot of info that I just don't understand.

Yep, LTSF was a <perk> moment for me.
And the new sellers?
Killin' me. Just killin me on Amazon.

You're smart.
Don't keep all your eggs in one basket.
Always consider more than one venue and if leaner works and you're still making money.... then better in losing out by having bigger expectations.
12 years ago, you wouldn't have heard a peep from me about not having higher expectations, I was 100% positive in my future with Amazon sales...
Not so much anymore.
I've never seen changes coming about as quickly as they do with Amazon now.
Rollin' em out faster and faster.

Me = Old Dawg
I don't do well with fast changes.
Amazon Vendor Discussion - Reddit

From Reddit:
Some of you may have seen these two news articles dating from December:

Can anyone find more information on the "One Vendor" program that's being referenced? Consolidating Seller Central and Vendor Central sounds like it could potentially be a company-killing disaster for anyone that resells branded products, like etailz, bigfly, et cetera.

I'm curious to see what the broader community thinks about these changes; I know there are some individuals in here involved with fairly large companies that run on similar business models, and I want to know what they think of this sort of discussion. Thoughts, anyone?

Same wishes x1000 to everyone.
I had wonderful holiday sales.
Sent in just enough to meet my financial goals and then some.
I shut down on self-fulfill on Dec. 7th.
Amazon FBA worked smoothly. The only 2 burps in the system were immediately taken care of by a simple ticket to Seller Support.

Our 40th anniversary was on the 9th and we agreed I would take the rest of the month off, celebrate all the memories we have and enjoy the holiday season.
It was well worth it...seriously it was.

I actually did so well that I didn't come back to sending in a shipment until the 7th.

Sorry not sorry I stayed away so long, just busy relaxing and getting ducks in a row to cut back this coming year.
Forum is up for grabs if anyone (that I trust) would like to have it handed to them and place ads on it to make some extra $$$.
We have thousands of views a day according to my statcounter.

Merry Christmas to you all!
Happy New Year!
Belated of course.

Amazon decided to send two boxes of my last two shipments to CA. (the others went to NC, NJ, WI and TX)

I stopped what I was doing and asked if the shipment was going to an area that might have been ravaged by the fires.
Employees to check them in.
Routes the trucks might need to get the shipments to the warehouse.

Guaranteed that my shipments would be safe.

First shipment took a lonnnnnnnng time to get to the warehouse area once it was in the state.
Still sitting there waiting to be received.

Have no idea about the second shipment but it is following suit of the other.

Think twice before sending your shipments to areas that have had disasters.

Customer Service

I checked source on the email.
The IP and all info square up that it's from Amazon.
Email doesn't have Hello <insert business name> but that isn't always the case with communications from Amazon.
[ur=]Discussion on Amazon Seller Forums[/url]:

If a seller hasn't set up 2 step verification... this is the time.
Why didn't  they use the https as opposed to http (security issue?)
Also, for goodness sakes shouldn't this be sent through notification on the site... the message center.
Yep, I would've had a punch to the gut scare moment with a red flag, but gimme a break...they sent an email.

Wondering if I should change password, even though we're told not to.

I have begun deleting the pages which show 'Dogs of Amazon.'
Just makes sense.
I trust Amazon to keep it's catalog pages in order and if they can't then I have to do what's best to keep my seller account/dashboard/inventory/count as up to date as possible.
I don't want to waste my time because Amazon isn't doing anything about these pages.

Amazon Plans to Split HQ2 in Two Locations

After conducting a yearlong search for a second home, Amazon has switched gears and is now finalizing plans to have a total of 50,000 employees in two locations, according to people familiar with the decision-making process.

The company is nearing a deal to move to the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens, according to two of the people briefed on the discussions. Amazon is also close to a deal to move to the Crystal City area of Arlington, Va., a Washington suburb, one of the people said.

To meet its own deadlines, Amazon will need to move fast. It had said it wanted 500,000 square feet of office space — enough for thousands of employees — available for use next year.

***There is chatter on the world wide web of Amazon into Canada, also.
Amazon just upped the ante in the race for free holiday shipping

Amazon upped the ante by expanding free shipping to all customers through the holidays, with no minimum purchase required. The retail and tech giant is also offering Prime Members free same-day delivery on more than 3 million items. Prime members, who pay $119 a year for the service, already receive free two-day shipping with no minimum purchase necessary.

The battle is real between Amazon, WalMart and Target.
Oh yes, it is.
Not sure.
Just googling...alot.
I have brought this up to my accountant.
He is on it, so I'm not as worked up about this as I normally am.

Just ran a 'quasi' report on the taxes I've collected via my main selling venue/Amazon.
The amount is so small. So very small.

I will be checking in with accountant before end of year and this is one of the items I need to make sure I pull reports for or not.

Thanks for input, Steve.
By all appearances, this is going to be a mess.

I've had one fixed.
After months of bumping my ticket.
The rest I said the hell with it and moved them to another venue.

Now, the amount of suppressed in my dashboard...SKY HIGH!
Every time I sign in...more are added.
I've taken care of all but 2 that just won't 'take' for some reason.

Last reported one took weeks and weeks and weeks to get reinstated.
Still waiting on 4 to be reinstated and one of those has been over a month.
