Amazon adding crypto currency to payment methods?
« on: December 01, 2017, 07:17:24 PM »
Amazon has added a few domain names to their portfolio, causing people to wonder if they're going to start accepting crypto currency, or possibly that they're going to create their own crypto currency.

Amazon now has amazonethereum.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com, amazoncryptocurrencies.com and amazonbitcoin.com.

While it's possible Amazon merely did this merely as a "just in case" move, in order to secure them while they're available, and it's possible they did it to prevent spoof sites from using them, it wouldn't be that big of a shock to see Amazon begin accepting them.  There are numerous online vendors that accept Bitcoin, including Dish Network, Overstock, NewEgg, Microsoft, Expedia, Steam, Mint.com, Fancy.com, Bloomberg, Intuit, Shopify, Rakutan, and CheapAir.com. In 2014, eBay even announced that PayPal merchants could soon accept Bitcoin payments, though that ended up on the back burner when PayPal was spun off.

amazonbitcoin.com

Seriously?
Unless they are starting their own type of bitcoin.
Strange.

I heard the other day that Amazon is not going to accept bitcoin. Maybe they are going to make their own? I doubt it but you never know with Jeff.

My two 'bitcoins' on this issue.
Bezo's will make his own.
He's never been one to fit in but to strive for outside the box.

Update:
Could be used for their apps/games.
We recently bought a new 10" Fire.
Downloaded games.
Found that once level was achieved, you can only go to next tier by buying coins.
Why not let us buy the game with all the flipping levels?
Whaddya think? Could be tied in.

BTW, games have been deleted.
Could sideload games from Google Play but <rolling eyes> C'mon Amazon.

I'll bite if the games include Ms. Pac Man or Space Invaders.
