Amazon Restrictions on contacting buyers for FBA gifted items

Oct 30, 2017

Starting today, you cannot initiate a message to a buyer about a return via the Buyer-Seller Messaging Service if the buyer's order contains an FBA item designated as a gift.

You will still be able to respond to messages about such returns if the buyer initiates the communication.

For FBA items, Amazon will take care of order-related issues and customer service on your behalf.

I just direct all FBA inquiries to buyer support and give them the phone number. I don't even deal with customer inquiries on FBA transactions. Only time I deal with inquiries is when it is product-related.

Same here.
That's one of the perks of FBA is they handle the customer service part.

Agreed. I do wish they had a better system in place for buyers to communicate to us the reason for return, though. Was it not up to the standards they expected? Was the shade or color not what they thought it would be? Etc. Hopefully the new returns page fixes that.

Give it a year.
