* Amazon Central / Baltimore Amazon Warehouse
« on: Yesterday at 08:47:38 AM »
I've had 2 boxes of inventory shipped to Baltimore Amazon Warehouse.
They have been delivered.
This is both verified on my Seller Dashboard, UPS, the warehouse and via Seller Support.

Oh, did I mention that December 1st and they have been sitting on Amazon's Baltimore Dock since the 1st of December?

I'm not alone.

Thread: Baltimore Warehouse

I've been advised to wait to file reconciliation until the 16th.
And we all know that often doesn't go as planned.

From the thread I learned something new.
Anyone know if you incur storage fees for packages that were delivered but not checked in?
Yes, you start paying for storage as soon as the box is marked delivered, I believe.

I don't know but I'm asking Seller Support.

This happened to me last year and I fought it tooth and nail.
Shipment found in January and all my holiday seasonal items were placed into my inventory....way too late.

This doesn't bode well for me or my inventory.
* Amazon Central / Amazon Services LLC (beta)
« on: December 10, 2017, 10:13:14 AM »
I received an email from Amazon (yes I checked headers) yesterday that took me aback.
It stated my payment was on the way.
Payment drop amount was not the same as my seller dashboard.
Payment drop date was off.
Got with Amazon and they validated it was a legit payment drop.
I questioned it and received screenshots and a much more in depth explanation.

Amazon Services LLC (beta)
Business to Business sale by Amazon and is processed separately by Amazon.
The disbursement date may also be on a different date than your regular disbursement.
Amazon Services LLC makes the payments for transactions in which buyers agree to pay after the shipment of goods or completion of services."

I don't remember signing up for this or if I was given an opt out instead of a sign up.
I'm usually on top of these types of emails that are sign up for this service or opt out.

Amazon has a new return dropoff location, Kohls, and its free for customers even if they pick "no longer needed" as a return reason

From Reddit Amazon Fulfilled:
I ordered something I didn't like and picked the return option "no longer needed" which usually means I pay for the return shipping back. But this time when printing the label, it gave me an option to return the item for free instead of paying for shipping by dropping it off at KOHLS.
If the public gets educated about this option, maybe it will cut down on the fake returns that people claim as "defective" or "damaged" simply because they wanted a free return label.

Amazon Just Slashed Prices. Here's What Third-Party Vendors Need to Know

Heard this yesterday on the news, meant to post earlier.

Amazon is forcing discounts on its third-party sellers. Hmmmmmm.
You'll need to click the link to read the entire piece....

"At first glance, we thought it was great," he said of the discount, which is being called Discount Provided by Amazon. But at a closer look, he realized it would mean "violating our seller agreement with every other marketplace that we sell on."

Amazon is trying to keep prices competitive with Wal-Mart and Dollar General, WSJ reports, especially as the holiday shopping season starts. Amazon is using the discounts on items sold by third-party vendors to match the prices offered by other retailers. Amazon covers the difference between its price discount and the normal price listed by independent vendors, which means vendors don't feel the discount. But, the price cut still could result in thousands of third-party vendors violating the minimum advertised price policies they signed with product manufacturers and brands, as well as pricing agreements they sign with other online marketplaces.

Amazon Manage FBA Returns page is now available

Nov 3, 2017
As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a great selling experience, we have added the Manage FBA Returns feature to your Seller Central account. The Manage FBA Returns page provides improved visibility to the FBA returns process, starting from the time the customer is refunded to the time the item is returned and processed at Amazon’s warehouse, including items that have been refunded, processed at a warehouse, or reimbursed (if applicable). FBA Sellers can now navigate to the page by going to the INVENTORY > Inventory Planning > Manage FBA Returns tab.

Let us know your ongoing thoughts on how well we’re meeting your needs, and where there are areas for improvement. You can provide feedback by using the "Tell us how we’re doing" link at the top, or the FEEDBACK icon at the bottom of the Manage FBA Returns page.
Amazon Restrictions on contacting buyers for FBA gifted items

Oct 30, 2017

Starting today, you cannot initiate a message to a buyer about a return via the Buyer-Seller Messaging Service if the buyer's order contains an FBA item designated as a gift.

You will still be able to respond to messages about such returns if the buyer initiates the communication.

For FBA items, Amazon will take care of order-related issues and customer service on your behalf.

Prepaid returns on seller-fulfilled items

Amazon will enable prepaid returns for sellers, starting October 2.

The update is scheduled to take place over several weeks.
If your account has been enabled for prepaid returns, you will see a notification at the top of the Manage Returns page.

This return process will automatically approve all seller-fulfilled returns that fall within the Amazon returns policy.
Customers with approved returns will be able to print a prepaid return shipping label through the Online Return Center instantly.

You can continue to track your return requests on the Manage Returns page.

I checked my Manage Returns and don't see that I'm included. Phew!

* Amazon Central / Are prescription drugs the next target for Amazon?
« on: October 10, 2017, 09:46:36 AM »
I mentioned this months ago...I think in July 2017.
Are prescription drugs the next target for Amazon?

Another day, another report that Amazon might try to upend a part of the traditional retail industry.
Are pharmacies and the health care business next?
Two analysts at Leerink, a boutique investment firm that focuses on the health care industry, said in a report Friday that Amazon (AMZN, Tech30) will "almost certainly" get into the prescription drug distribution business within the next two years.

Shares of the CVS (CVS) and Walgreen (WBA) drugstore chains both fell nearly 5% Friday following the release of the report. Pharmacy benefit management company Express Scripts (ESRX) dropped more than 2.5%.
The stocks were all down again Monday. CVS and Walgreen dropped 3% further and Express Scripts fell 5% -- even as Amazon rose and the Dow and Nasdaq hit new all-time highs.
Amazon is simplifying how we display prices to customers
Oct 5, 2017

Starting in mid-October, Amazon will begin simplifying the detail page to show your lowest offer price and a "list price," if you choose to provide one. When this change happens, prices formerly described as "sale" prices will be displayed as "prices." If you use the sale price, there will no longer be a separate field or display for pre-discounted prices after the change occurs. You do not need to take any action when the price display changes.

You might be interested in the following features:

List price: To include a list price, please review Amazon's Policy on Reference Prices, and complete the "Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)" field in Seller Central or in the inventory upload file. List prices must represent the price at which sellers or other retailer(s) have recently made substantial sales of the product in question. Sellers also are responsible for ensuring that the list prices provided to us remain current.

Promotions: To let customers know that you are offering a sale or special discount—such as percent off, buy one get one, or free shipping—using Promotions tools. For more information, see the Promotions Help page.

New requirement when sending products to Amazon

Hello from Fulfillment by Amazon,

In order for your products to be placed in our fulfillment centers more accurately and to be ready for sale quicker, starting on October 2, 2017, you will be required to provide the weight of a product in the manufacturer’s original packaging.

This information will help improve the accuracy of your inventory records and help move your products through our fulfillment network more efficiently so that they can become ready for sale quicker. You will receive a prompt to enter this weight for each ASIN when you create a new shipping plan if this information is not already on file. You will only be asked to provide this information once per ASIN.

The weight of the product in the manufacturer’s original packaging is needed in addition to the box content information, because it allows us to calculate the weight of each unit within the box individually.

Visit Send FBA inventory to Amazon (sign-in required) to learn more about shipping to our fulfillment centers.

To find out more about box content information, visit Box content information for shipments to Amazon (sign-in required).

Thank you for selling on Amazon.

The Fulfillment by Amazon team

**Note to self: Expect shipments to take three times as long thanks to listing against other sellers items that didn't fill in the weight when they set up the Amazon catalog page.
