As much as I've thought on this and tried to make the solution work for you.
I'm coming up with nothing.

After you've thought about it more...what do YOU think?
We can move this to the more private area of the forum if you'd like.
Just lemme know.

Made me laugh.

You forgot Nike.

The first thing you could do for me (after you take care of your needs) is to help straighten out the categories. So many things listed by Amazon retail that are classified as "books". However, they are either office supplies, health, etc. I think Amazon retail did that just so they could collect an extra 1.80 per unit sold.

When I'm appointed by the board of Amazon to run the company, I'll jump right on it!
<smile>

I have been slowly working on that for the last year as I come across them.
Anyway... if there is anyway I can help...lemme know.
I'll take on the task.
Either private message me here or I think you can see my email address.
I'd be hap-hap-happy to do this.
Time consuming?
Yes.
Worth it?
Yes, to all sellers not just us.

The new sellers are killing the catalog.
And old sellers that know how to circumvent Amazon do too.
I don't have time for dishonesty.

Exxxxactly!
I so wish they would just leave them alone and stop mucking with them.
Brighter?
Amazon says... Sure.
More Lines?
Amazon says... Sure, let's double that number.
More Widgets I won't use that don't collapse?
Amazon says... Sure, why not?

My gripe?

The newbie sellers of this past season seem to whine more on the Amazon Seller Forums than I've ever seen.
They don't want to look questions up.
Automatically post to the seller forums the most elementary, basic questions that I've seen.
And these are our competitors!
Those of us who have sold for years and years and years.
<sigh>

Yep.
I had to work with Amazon to have some items 'remeasured.'
They were showing them as over-sized/weighing more.

Uh-huh.
These are smaller items that self-fulfill buyers had the weight scad high and measurements larger so they could pocket more money on shipping.

Took quite a bit of work over the last year, but feel like I made some lead-way.

I wish they'd let me run Amazon.

Yep, same email received here.
Different amounts due.

Nope, no free removals.
At least none that I saw.
Who knows if they will 'give' that to we sellers again.
A girl can hope.

Took your advice and did as you did last year and weeded out my inventory before the last day of December.

And.... my seller dashboard looks different today.
Bam!

IMHO, this dashboard is better.
Less of the 'gunk' that the previous look had.

Amazon New: Create a Sales-Based Rule in Automate Pricing

Dec 18, 2017

You can now create an Automate Pricing rule based on your sales performance. You can create rules to automatically decrease (or increase) your price if your unit sales go below (or above) a certain threshold by the end of a time interval you set, based on the following parameters:

Time interval to evaluate unit sales (once every 1, 7, 14, or 30 days)
Unit sales thresholds below (or above) during the time interval
Percentage or $ amount to decrease (or increase) price
Minimum and maximum price for the SKU

Amazon New Feature: Bulk label purchase added to Buy Shipping Services

Dec 13, 2017
The Buy Shipping Services team is excited to announce the launch of a new feature, which allows you to buy shipping labels in bulk for domestic Seller Fulfilled Prime and non-Prime orders. You can now purchase labels in bulk from your Seller account in Seller Central for up to 100 labels at a time.

Buy Shipping preferences must be set to purchase labels in bulk.

***I've chosen not to use this feature.
Sometimes I choose to ship out orders Priority as versus a slower shipping means.
Sometimes I choose to ship out orders with insurance.
I like being able to process orders with a personal touch and making sure my customer comes first... that ability is lessened with an automation process.

Technical Issues
Jan 3, 2018

Head's Up!
From Amazon Headlines:
We are currently experiencing an issue affecting Sellers' ability to view newly created or edited listings in the Manage Inventory section of the Seller Account. This is not impacting the availability of product details on the website. (01/03 07:00 PDT)

I have experienced this sporadically for the last 3 days.
We all know that means changes are coming.

U.S. FBA fee changes - effective February 22, 2018

As in previous years, FBA fees in the U.S. will be adjusted to reflect the changing costs of fulfillment, transportation, and customer service. The new fulfillment fees will take effect on February 22, 2018. We are notifying you now to give you time to plan for these changes.

FBA is introducing the following changes:

•   Fulfillment Fees: We will adjust our fulfillment fees for most product size tiers and weights. The adjusted fees will apply throughout the year, and we will no longer have a separate rate for October through December.
•   Dimensional Weight Calculation: We are adjusting the way we calculate dimensional weight to align with current industry standards. Currently, dimensional weight is calculated as the unit volume (based on length x width x height in inches) divided by 166. Effective February 22, 2018, we will calculate dimensional weight as the unit volume (based on length x width x height in inches) divided by 139 (instead of 166). The dimensional weight is only applicable for large standard-size items weighing more than 1 lb. and all small, medium, and large oversize items.

FBA inventory storage fees are not changing at this time.
We will announce changes to these fees in early 2018.

For complete details of the fee changes, visit www.amazon.com/fba-fee-changes

I like the way you think in regards to this matter.

Thanks for posting the article.

I was reading yesterday about Amazon's 'maybe' 'perhaps' might be buying Kohl's and Target.
I had assumed that Amazon would move forward with the purchase of Kohl's now that they are 'officially' in the stores. (local AZ returns available)

The talk around town is that Amazon wants the young woman purchase power.
Supposedly it is one of the reasons Amazon purchased Whole Foods. (merely one of the reasons)

Target would get them the coveted youg mother demographics.

Both good reasons to go forward with purchasing.
Not good reasons for upping our fees.
