When I was working on losing weight.  I walk an hour a day - rain, snow or shine.
Since I walked during my luch time and had to return to my job, if the wether was too wet I walked around the grocery store for an hour.
Yeah, they thought I was nuts but hey, I had no choice but to walk!
LOL, that's when I was motivated.  Otherwise I too am full of excuses.

I still say, someone needs to invent a computer that the speed is based on pedal power!  LOL, I'd be pedaling my ass off!

sock monkeys at www.OurSockMonkey.com and of course everything at www.FilthyRichFashions.com

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. That is why we call it the present!

The weather is not cooperating with me this week. Yesterday was super-hot, and then today it poured almost the whole time I was at a park with some of my relatives. I thought we'd get to walk, play with the kids, etc. but instead we huddled under a shelter most of the time.

Tomorrow is another day :)

Yes, it is and I plan to take the day off tomorrow!  :nana
It poured rain here today too, lots of thunder and lightning as well!

I had PT today, and she really worked me very hard.  :poke(She had me do circuit training and I was really sweatin' by the time my 45 minutes were over.)

Besides all the normal strengthening exercises and equipment at the PT's, they also are doing a lot of work with me on my balance. This is the gadget that they have me working on some of the time,
http://www.bosupro.com/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=bosupro/story.html
It may not look tough, but that is deceiving! (It is like sort of like trying to balance on while standing a jelly doughnut on a ship in a bad storm! :053)

I have worked out hard for 4 days in a row, so tomorrow I am not going to the health club. I have PT again on Thursday at 11am, so I decided that I deserve a break tomorrow 8).

I started following the Weight Watchers plan yesterday, and did very well yesterday and today. Their flex points plan is very easy to follow for me so far, so I look forward to seeing how it goes in the future.

Anybody else still doing their exercise? I did a quarter of a mile on my treadmill this morning, just to stretch out the knees, and then went to my PT session with plenty of exercise there. I am still doing fine following my WW eating plan. Hope everyone else is doing well also. Deborah

The weather has really been derailing me. Mike had a business trip and I was exhausted from being a single mom. He doesnt' help much when he's here, but it's better than nothing. All the "exercise" I got yesterday was a trip to wallyworld, and today it might just be a trip to target and kohl's.

Tomorrow I am going to join an area mommy group for a walk in the park. This will be my first even with this group. They walk in a park every week and I'm excited to have people to walk (and visit) with.

Oh and I did lots of baby lifts this morning. She likes being lifted above my head to look around superman-style, and the launch is half the fun. I figure we did a good 20-30 reps with a 15-lb baby. I've really been noticing my upper body strength building (finally) from carrying her around in her carseat, carrying her alone, etc. It still needs to increase! I'm getting all sorts of heavy stuff to haul in and out of my trunk for my new job.

I'm on my desktop computer for a change, with baby in my lap, and she's managed to click the mouse and hit the keyboard. Her first time using a computer!  :love005 so cute!

That's adorable! :vibes  I bet that lifting her up high is a whole lot more fun than just using weights! It will be a great way to firm up arms and build lean muscle mass!

We have had 2 episodes of very dark skies and high winds with heavy rain, but now the sun is peeking out and it is no longer raining here. Our lawn really needs the rain, so if it rained more, I would be happy for that, but not for you to be stuck inside!

Did my water workout and swimming yesterday.  Today we were at the park with friends so haven't done anything today.

I got stressed yesterday from being in court and haven't eaten very well.  I feel like I'm stuck in a bad circle I can't break.  Get upset and turn to food, get upset that I turned to food and be mad at myself with the why bother and it seems to never end. :h0162

I hate being like this :-(

Danielle, sometimes it is really hard for us to forgive ourselves for things that we think we have done wrong, or not done as well as we hoped to.  :poke

If we could just try to treat ourselves the same way that we would treat our friends and loved ones, then it would be easy to just dust off and continue on as if we had never stumbled. :love005

Try and be as forgiving of your self as you would be of your boys, and since we can't be there, :ghug give yourself a hug and start over from now to do things the way you know that you can.

Dayum!!  And think of all the people her age who fall and break their hip just walking across the room. My mom agrees about the keeping moving part and refuses to stop painting and wallpapering, gardening and cleaning even tho her arthritis is very bad. I know I have seen people who ended up in a wheel chair because they sat down and let the arthritis have it's way.

One of my excercise tactics drives some people crazy, I call it planned inefficiency, and it is actually suggested in the weight watchers plan. My house is pretty big and I make multiple trips upstairs and down to get a small task done. Go down and get a  screwdriver, go up and decide I need a pair of scissors, etc. Fold the towels and carry them up, then go down and hang the shirts. This is not very practical when you have a baby tho' because you have to get that stuff done in the few minutes you have free. Morgan weighs almost 25 lbs now so running up and down the stairs with her is too hard for me. I always say I am going to start taking her out for walks, but it always seems to be too windy or cold or hot, and then they put up the mountain lion warnings for our area and I got a little spooked by that. So we usually end up at Wallyworld too.

My hip is pretty bad and I can't take much weight or impact, so my dream is to get one of those personal swim spas. I don't have health insurance, but some people get them paid for by insurance if they need water PT.

Yep, I agree, Dayum! She's wonderful!
(But, just for the record, I can't skate worth a Dayum, and couldn't even before I became a "crip"!) LOL, Deborah

I'm half her age and wish I could move like that.  ;)

A couple years ago I went with my son's A Honor Roll field trip as a volunteer chaparone. It was a roller skating party. I was fondly remembering my younger days when I could skate circles around anyone. I foolishly got a pair of skates and put them on. I skated once around the big circle, falling smack on my butt at ever turn. When I made it back around, I crawled off the wooden floor, took the skates off and came to the conclusion that my skating days are definitely over.  :o

I did manage to make it once around the yard today walking. At least I'm figuring that's about how much I walked as I was trying to catch the dog who got off his run and thought he'd make up a game to play with me involving coming very close to me and then running away.  ::) Between the walking and the yelling, I got quite a workout.

We walked about a mile in the park today, maybe a little more. I think we will walk at this park again. It's a nice place to go with a stroller. We got to watch some geese and goslings at the side of the lake and met some other mommies and will meet with them again. It was a very good day so far  :up

Great job everyone, keep up the good work! :D! I did 1 mile on my treadmill this morning.

We are off to Central OH for the weekend. David was given 2 free VIP passes to a Pontiac Solstice Event at the Mid Ohio Race Course in Lexington, Ohio.  8) :D!
It includes VIP parking, admission to the hospitality party tonight, and then to the race on Saturday, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. He also gets to take a "hot" lap on the course in his Solstice GXP, so he is psyched about that! (Being a race car driver is every guys dream, isn't it? :0191 ;))
We are staying in a motel down there tonight and tomorrow night. It is supposed to have high speed internet in the rooms, but as we all know, those kind of internet connections at not usually very good. so I probably won't be on here till we get back home.

Spend the day sitting around the table with the mom's and dad's while the kids played.  This was the first get together of our summer game day.

Think I can talk them all into working out next week while the kids play

I'm going to see if the kids want to walk the beach with me after dinner, problem is they don't walk they dilly dally and pick up stuff along the way.

Make a game out of walking getting them to walk at a steady pace with you.  I am sure that they would even like it, even if it was only to compete with one another. Deborah

Deborah,

Did you say Kim went with you?
How is her mother?
Did everything turn out well?

I've been worried.

I love that you all have the support of each other.

I've been told by the doc I have to stay off my feet for the most part for the next three months. OH NO! My bootie!
