hidden stuff in cell phone
« on: May 31, 2013, 01:05:52 PM »
I had to move lots of apps to sd card because I had way too much in my cell phone and it was constantly crashing.  I finally took the time to do it and while I was at it I reorganize the home screens.  In the process I found a hidden feature. This particular phone has a built in FM radio!   I already knew it had ability to use special cord to display screen on a tv (plugs between headset jack and analog A/V input) and had read a blurb some time ago about an FM radio, but had never come across the radio app, so I figured tmobile didn't include it in their variant of the phone.  Turns out it was hidden in the widgets section.  (press and hold blank space on screen and select to add widget).  I also found a few other features I didn't know it had (some in the 'add shortcut', some in the 'add widget'.  So anyway, if you haven't already, poke around in the widget and shortcuts areas, you never know what you might find in there.

Speaking of t-mobile...
What do you think of the merger between T-Mobile and Metro PC?

I'm hoping it'll expand tmo's coverage areas and lead to more 4G areas.  I fear that it'll clog up their networks,  though.   As it is, Tmo is rarely clogged up at large events, except on bargain days - such as Wisc State Fair's 'bring canned goods and get in for $2" day.  Whereas Sprint is routinely clogged up at large events, esp. on weekends.  I can usually tell when it's a cheapie day, which means low sales for us, by whether or not TMO's system is clogged.

That's been the general consensus that it'll "clog" the system.
My son's contract is up with Verizon and he's been thinking of moving to TMobile as they implemented the no contract deal.
But, he's worrisome about the doubling up on the tmobile system.

I was just reading that metropcs uses lte, so it might turn out okay. TMO uses hspa+ on different frequency. Course, who knows if they'll move either to the other frequencies, but that'd also mean all new phones for ppl So I doubt they'd do it any time soon.  I reckon we'll see 5G before that happens.

LTE?
Love it!
I would have it on my iPhone when visiting Tampa/Orlando.
Within the last months it popped up in Lakeland.
WooHooooooz!
