Does anyone know how to run the program that's the equivalent of Scan Disc or Check Disc in Windows 7?

Fire up your Command Prompt as Administrator, type CHKDSK, and hit <ENTER>

If you haven't already you might want to download / install cCleaner (free version)

http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER

Read the instructions on how to use all the different componets.  Great program!!

I had it on my old XP box. I thought since this new unit came armed to the teeth with anti-malware protection, I might not need it, but I'll certainly consider re-installing it.

I reinstalled it on this fresh format when whatever malware I couldn't track and hunt down and remove forced a reformat about a week ago, problem was when I'd do a scan with whatever was on that PC suddenly that got on it, it would cancel the scan     :053

Yes, if this becomes an ongoing issue, I'll pick the one to keep and delete the other. But for now, they're working in harmony again.

There's definitely a flaw in Outlook 2010 security. I just received another malware attachment that self executed on download. It attached itself to my calendar. I deleted both the e-mail invitation and the calendar entry unopened, but it should never have made it to my calendar in the first place.
