one thing I learned about FBA too late was ... do not sign up on your own.  Call and get an FBA rep ... wait until August or Sept ask about any specials.  Last 2 yrs those that signed up with a rep .. if they have so many inbound shipments and sold so much they got a portion of their inboud shipping fees back.  Some folks got back like $700.
Unfortunately, we did not about it and just signed up on our own therefore we did not qualify

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. That is why we call it the present!

Are you using Amazon's account to ship to them?

Sold two more items on Amazon in the past week, that makes 5 total in the past 3 weeks.  Still a happy camper.   :h0161 No payment to my bank account yet, but I'm not sweating it.

BT is right.

I have a rep. and I think she's the "bee's knees".
I was approached by her to sign up for FBA and she's an email/phone call away.
She walked me through my first 3 shipments, step by step and has answered my questions promptly and politely.
I've referred her to several others (there is no referral kick-back for me) and all of them agree that she's great.

My rep was on vacation and the automated response to my email gave me her back-up's email and phone number.
Called her back-up and received the info I needed in a timely manner.

I'm not sure if you have to ask for the specials.
I didn't ask and still received the perk.
It had been mentioned to me during my first convo with my rep that there would be perks in Aug/Sept and it would be taken care of.

If anyone wants my rep's name...lemme know via PM and I'll hook you up.
She's a doll!

BTW, I'm on the road back and forth to Cedar Key and The VA in Gainesville...alot.
SO if I don't answer immediately, know that I'll get back with you when I can.
(One of the songs I've been singing more often then not is...On The Road Again.)

I like standing in line at the front of the PO listening to ppl grumble about holding up the line, when they bring up up a carrier of stuff from the loading dock, and then mentioning this was the third trip for the day.

Seeing five-figure deposits to the bank account is cool, too.

:hi. I am interested in selling books too.  Can anyone provide some advice as to which books sell more than others.  I heard non-fiction books sell very well.

On a more serious side, I don't know what books are selling but I do know that by scanning a book with your smart phone or portable scanner will get you the current price the book is selling for.
You can use the Amazon app and scan the book UPC and it will show you the current price the book is selling for.
Or you can use an app.
One current popular app is: Profit Bandit

How to scan books for profit <--- Search out youtube video's

You should hit garage sales, thrift shops such as Goodwill, Salvation Army, library sales, etc

Textbooks used to be a hot item for me, but now a good amount of schools are going to eBooks.

I have heard that non-fiction books sell extremely well on Amazon.

If you search out the Amazon catalog section for books, there is a best selling list on each section.
The best finds are obscure and hard to find titles, first editions, etc.

ROFL!! I had never seen that one before!  :up Love it!

As for books, you probably already know this, but a lot of mass-market stuff winds up going for $ .01 + $3.99 shipping. I have been in that position with some books and wound up paying to get rid of them after the fees and shipping  :( so I have no idea how sellers manage to do that and make anything at all.

On the serious side, you can't go wrong with books that you know from personal experience are popular. Start with what you know.

Specialty books are always popular, too.
I'm rabidly reading anything that has to do with fibromyalgia (minus the hucksters books).
Cookbooks, too. ( I know most use the internet now, but I love them)
There was a motorcycle book that was hard to find...anybody remember that was oh so worth selling?

two stroke tuners handbook http://www.amazon.com/Two-stroke-Tuners-Handbook-Gordon-Jennings/dp/0912656417

sales may have dropped some, though, because a pdf is now out there on the net

:0191I would suggest looking at Amazon's Trade in section on Textbooks and other books.  Look at their top picks and the books they are willing to pay top dollar for so next time you are bargain shopping for books at either Waldenbooks or Borders or even the Goodwill stores or Savers, you have a better idea of what books customers are looking for.

Hopes this helps bring you in more sales.

Lily :hi
