* Amazon Central / Removal Order Issues
« on: November 30, 2017, 08:25:19 PM »
Got a nice little surprise when some of my removal order arrived on my front porch.  Missing 18 units of one product and 7 of another product. Photos attached. Chat support sending this to "an internal team" for investigation into the missing units and have to wait at least 24 hours for a response...

Wanna bet I won't get reimbursed for something that is obviously missing because the package came open during shipment?

* Amazon Central / FBA Feedback Not Removed
« on: November 27, 2017, 06:08:55 PM »
Customer orders item via FBA. Amazon fails to deliver. Customer leaves negative feedback. Amazon says "screw you". Amazon leaves feedback as is. Leroy reopens case. Leroy waits for someone who can't speak English to say "screw you".

* Amazon Central / FBA Refund
« on: November 04, 2017, 04:12:04 AM »
I just got a $25 dollar refund (lost in warehouse) for a product I never sold above $12.95 and had selling/FBA fees of a little over $5. Amazon is welcomed to lose everything I own if this is the result.

Well, today is the day for the multi fulfillment center distribution. I haven't tried making any new shipments but I'm going to be creating as many "cases" of product as I can to avoid the additional costs of shipping.

And that "discount" or whatever it is for lower fulfillment fees of 4 cents isn't much of anything. Might as well stick a pair of scissors through my eyes.

Ok, that last part was a little much, but you get the drift.

* Amazon Central / Split Shipments Starting August 14
« on: July 31, 2017, 05:07:14 PM »
I received the following email. All I have to say is that I got a really crappy split with one fulfillment center being ONT8 (the one that was running behind by WEEKS last year and was very good for losing a TON of stuff).

Hello from Fulfillment by Amazon,

This is a reminder that effective 8/14/2017, we will ask you to send eligible standard-size items to three receive centers. Shipping to three receive centers will allow customers to get faster deliveries and reduces Amazon's costs to deliver these orders. Your specific receive centers will be:

Receive Center         Name    Receive Center Location (City, State)           Proportion of Units per SKU (%)
ONT8                       Moreno Valley, CA                                                  20%
MDW2                     Joliet, IL                                                                35%
ABE8                       Florence, NJ                                                          45%
Note: The receive centers and proportion of units per SKU may change.

We have updated our fees to share Amazon's cost savings with you. You will receive the fee reduction as a discount to your fulfillment fees based on the below rate card. You may choose to follow Amazon’s guidance to ship to three receive centers and receive a fulfillment fee discount or use the Inbound Placement Service, which gives you the option to ship to fewer destinations. A per-item service fee applies when you use the Inventory Placement Service.

The following fee schedules show the current and discounted FBA fees:

<see table in your email>

To learn more about inventory placement and Amazon receive centers, please review the FAQ page. We welcome your feedback on these changes at us-fba-fee-announce-feedback@amazon.com. The FBA business team will review each comment.

Sincerely,

The Fulfillment by Amazon team

* Amazon Central / New Return Policy for Merchant Fulfilled Products
« on: July 31, 2017, 02:30:31 PM »

Dear Seller,

Amazon is simplifying the returns process on items fulfilled by sellers. Starting October 2, 2017, returns of items that you fulfill and that fall within the Amazon returns policy will be automatically authorized. Customers will be able to print a prepaid return shipping label via the Online Return Center instantly.

We are also introducing 'returnless refunds,' a feature that is highly requested by sellers. If you so choose, you will now be able to set rules and automatically issue a refund without requiring an item to be shipped back to you. Sellers have requested this because, in many cases, it allows you to save on both return shipping and processing costs.

We hope these changes will reduce the effort required to manage your returns and decrease your customer Return Dissatisfaction Rate (RDR), thereby improving your ratings. Additionally, you will have full visibility into the end-to-end return process through shipment tracking information located on the Manage Returns page in Seller Central.

Below are a few key details:
1.    You are required to have a return address on file. If you want to specify a separate return address, please update your information in Seller Central (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/on-board/configuration/global-return-address/index.html). If you have not specified a return address by October 2, your business address will be used as the return address.
2.    You are required to issue a refund within two business days of receipt of a return. If you do not take action regarding the refund request, Amazon may refund the customer on your behalf and charge the amount to your seller account.
3.    You might be responsible for the cost of return shipping in accordance with Amazon's policies.
4.    Certain items are not eligible for prepaid return shipping. You can request exemptions for specific items in your inventory after August 31.
5.    You can appeal return disputes directly to Amazon.
To learn more, visit the Prepaid returns for seller fulfilled orders help page: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/202072200

Early participants have seen RDR go down by an average of three times after offering prepaid return shipping. If you would like to begin offering automatically authorized prepaid returns to customers before October 2, please respond to the survey below by August 11 to on-board by August 25.

Updated process for feedback removal requests
Jul 27, 2017

In order to simplify the steps needed to respond to customers and manage negative feedback, starting July 27, 2017, all sellers must use the Feedback Manager page for all feedback interactions. As part of this change, you won't be able to request feedback removal through Contact Us, and Seller Support associates will no longer evaluate feedback requests. Learn more about Feedback Manager.

* Amazon Central / Amazon Buys Whole Foods
« on: June 16, 2017, 11:03:36 AM »
Amazon (AMZN) is buying Whole Foods (WFM) for $13.7 billion, the companies announced on Friday.

In a statement Friday morning, the online retailer said it would buy the high-end grocer for $42 per share, more than the $33.06 per share Whole Foods closed at on Thursday.

The deal is Amazon’s biggest deal ever, topping the $1.2 billion the company paid for online footwear retailer Zappos in 2009.

After the announcement, Whole Foods shares were up 27% to trade at $41.99 per share. Amazon shares were up 3.4% in early trade on Friday to trade at around $996 per share.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said, “Millions of people love Whole Foods Market because they offer the best natural and organic foods, and they make it fun to eat healthy.

“Whole Foods Market has been satisfying, delighting and nourishing customers for nearly four decades — they’re doing an amazing job and we want that to continue.”

John Mackey, the CEO of Whole Foods, will remain CEO of the company and its headquarters will remain in Austin, Texas. The companies expect the deal to close in the second half of this year.

* Amazon Central / FBA negative feedback actually removed
« on: June 06, 2017, 03:01:16 PM »
Had two feedbacks last week. One was a product review (immediately removed as per the bot) and the other one was a review on Amazon's poor packaging and the subsequent damage to the book the customer received. Within a few hours, it was struck through.

There is hope for those that have had feedback issues lately. At least we know Amazon hasn't totally given up on removing/striking through unwarranted feedback.

* Amazon Central / Condition Box Going Away for New Items
« on: February 02, 2017, 08:40:45 PM »
Effective March 8, 2017, the Condition Note attribute will be disabled for all new products. If you do have new products listed with condition notes, the condition notes will be removed from the All Offers Page. You can still continue to use the Condition Note attribute for all other product conditions.

For more information, refer to our Condition guidelines.

Finally. Should have been done a long time ago.  Oh, the griping and whining on the Amazon forums.

* Amazon Central / Media and FBA Fee Increase
« on: February 02, 2017, 08:38:59 PM »
Sigh...

Since I don't do flat files or uploads, I am manually going through my inventory and increasing the price of my media products ahead of time. I sure don't want to get caught off guard.  Thankfully I don't have to worry about a lot of items in my inventory since I don't sell media exclusively.  Oh, how the moaning on forums have begun.

* Amazon Central / Let the Split Shipments Begin!
« on: January 12, 2017, 07:38:08 PM »
So much for the joy of sending everything to one location.  Now, I have everything going to Joliet except for 4 items which are going to Dallas/Ft. Worth. Weighs all of 1.4 pounds.  Guess the shipment to Dallas won't be going in anytime soon  ;)

* Amazon Central / FBA Fees on the Rise AGAIN!
« on: December 09, 2015, 06:38:54 PM »
Well, directly from Seller Central, an announcement was made that FBA fees are going to increase.  I guess Jeff wants us to pay for HIS semi-trucks.  :s0147

* Amazon Central / Amazon down AGAIN...
« on: June 25, 2015, 02:32:49 PM »
Been having problems logging into seller central.  I keep getting a message "This account is not associated with a valid merchant/marketplace."  I can't even access the forums as an anonymous surfer via google.  Right in the middle of getting two FBA shipments prepped to ship tonight.  Guess it will wait another day.

Have already closed firefox, cleaned my system (three times) and then tried again.  First two times it worked, this last time it's a no-go.

Anyone else having issues?

* Beyond eBay & Amazon / Business Website Hosting
« on: June 03, 2015, 03:07:03 PM »
I would like to tap the knowledge of other sellers.  I am wanting to develop a website that will allow me to utilize my current FBA inventory as well as allow me to create additional inventory.  I have considered a number of platforms and am leaning towards Spotify for several reasons.

What are your thoughts on Spotify?  Is it easy to use, build, and manage?

I do not have any computer savvy when it comes to uploading files, so on Amazon I list items one by one via "add a product".  Is there an easy way I can learn how to do the files to upload on Spotify?  I want to have approximately 4-6x the amount of listings that I currently have on Amazon.  It would really suck to have to create listings one by one.

I guess I want to know as much as possible before jumping right in.  Even if you can't answer all my questions, any thoughts provided would be greatly appreciated.
